X: What's the matter with you, soldier!
Boy: It's my nerves, sir. I just can't stand the barking any more.
X: Your nerves! [slaps the boy] I won't have cowards in my army.
Grampa: [whaps X] Sorry, X
You can push them out of a plane, you can march them off a cliff,
you can send them off to die on some God-forsaken rock, but for
some reason you can't slap them.

Id X and what is this sequence a parody of?????

1) ______________ OBE is an English rock/blues singer who came to popularity in the 1960s, and is most known for his gritty voice and his cover versions of popular songs, particularly those of The Beatles. After minor success in the U.S. with the single "Marjorine", he entered the big time with a groundbreaking rearrangement of "With a Little Help from My Friends", another Beatles cover, this time from the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album, featuring lead guitar from Jimmy Page, drumming by BJ Wilson, backing vocals from Sue and Sunny and Steve Winwood on piano. The single made the Top Ten on the British charts, remained there for thirteen weeks and eventually reached number one on 9 November 1968. It also reached number 68 on the US charts.

2) _______ Jiménez moved to Los Angeles, California in 1991 to study acting under Stella Adler, hoping for a career in Hollywood, despite limited fluency in English, attributed to her suffering from dyslexia but is now an actress, director, television and film producer. Identify , the connect is pretty obvious.

X is a candy bar that is made of chocolate-covered peanuts, caramel, and nougat, though the nougat found in it is more like fudge than is found in many other American candy bars. The bar was a staple of Chicago-based Curtiss Candy Company for some seven decades. Curtiss was later purchased by Nabisco, and after a series of mergers and acquisitions, the candy bar is currently produced by Nestlé. In 1921 the Curtiss Candy Company refashioned its Kandy Kake into the X.

Although the name of the candy bar sounds nearly identical to the name of the famous Y, the Curtiss Candy Company has traditionally claimed that it was named after President Grover Cleveland's daughter, _____ Cleveland. Nonetheless, the bar first appeared in 1921, as Y's fame was on the rise and long after Cleveland had left the White House and 15 years after his daughter had died. Moreover, the company had failed to negotiate an endorsement deal with Y, and many saw the company's story about the origin of the name of the bar as merely a way to avoid having to pay Y any royalties. Ironically, Curtiss successfully shut down a rival bar that was approved by, and named for, ____, on the grounds that the names were too similar in the case of George H. ______ Candy Co. v. Curtiss Candy Co, 49 F.2d 1033 (1931).

At his death, the New York Times called Y, "a figure unprecedented in American life. A born showman off the field and a marvelous performer on it, he had an amazing flair for doing the spectacular at the most dramatic moment."

ID X and Y

I am The Pontiff!!!!!

Here like a cat in a Lombardy sewer! Swelter and toil!

With my neck puffed out like a pigeon,

belly hanging like an empty sack,

beard pointing at the ceiling, and my brain

fallen backwards in my head!

Breastbone bulging like a harpy’s

and my face, from drips and droplets,

patterned like a marble pavement.

Ribs are poking in my guts; the only way

to counterweight my shoulders is to stick

my butt out. Don’t know where my feet are-

they’re just dancing by themselves!

In front I’ve sagged and stretched; behind,

my back is tauter than an archer’s bow!

Now look at the pic......
put fundage. Tell me what this refers to.
