X is a state in northern Mexico with a mainland area of 244,938 square kilometers , slightly bigger than the United Kingdom. It is surrounded by the Mexican states of Sonora , Sinaloa, Durango and Coahuila and by the U.S. states of Texas and New Mexico. X is the largest state in Mexico by area, and therefore has the nickname El Estado Grande ("The Big State").
Y is named after X. Given the above description, it is pretty ironic that Y is named so. Of course, Y's origin is X.
